It is one thing to be a an-supermodel turned singer, it is another to be the President's wife when you release your third album.Welcome to the world of Carla Bruni.
The singer turned first lady to her marriage to French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February this year.
Of course, none of this has done any harm in the lead up to publicity for her new album but it has left music critics in a difficult position.
I mean, how do you review music from "unofficial royalty" objectively? And what are the consequences of a bad review?
Bruni will certainly be hoping it sells better than her second album that managed only 380,000 copies sold. Though her first did see two million copies sold worldwide.
The best aspect of it all is that all royalties from the album, entitled Comme Si De Rien N'Etait (Simply) will be distributed to charity.
