Eating fish has many benefits including help prevent memory loss but only if eaten grilled or baked - not fried.A study in neurology this week has found that people who eat grilled or baked fish three or more times per week have a 26 per cent lower risk of having brain lesions that can cause dementia and stroke compared to people who eat fish less than once a month.
Just under 4000 healthy volunteers aged 65 and older underwent brain scans to detect small areas of blocked blood supply.
It only took one serving of fish serving per week to result in a 13 per cent lower risk of brain lesions.
The same results were not found in people who ate fried fish.
