If you're a drinker who's prone to telling off your boss in rambling midnight missives, forwarding porn to your in-laws or confessing your deepest secrets to casual acquaintances you'd like to sleep with, Google has got the thing for you -- a way to keep you from sending drunk e-mails. Gmail now has a feature called "Mail Goggles" that allows you to specify days and times when you think you might be drunk. If you try to send an e-mail during those periods, the feature will have you take a preliminary math-challenge sobriety test.
"By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you're most likely to need it," explains developer Jon Perlow. After you've enabled it, you can adjust those settings in case you're prone to getting hammered on Wednesday afternoons as well.
Question Raised: Could this possibly be an effective way to cut down on boozy rants sent to good-for-nothing, cheating ex-girlfriends?
