One definition of the future is "a place where stuff appears from nowhere". Realisations of that concept include the electric lightbulb, TVs that slide out from the wall and freeze-dried roast dinners.

But one place the modern world is yet to deliver on that promise is in the pub. Beer is still poured in largely the same way that it has been for centuries -- from a tap, and from above.

Not any more. A company has unveiled a new machine that pours beer from below. You place your glass down, and it magically fills up with delicious alcohol.

This method reduces wastage, and increases the speed that you can pour drinks -- important at large events like sports games and music festivals. With this little baby you can pour up to ten drinks a minute, and avoid the nasty froth that usually collects when beer is poured too quickly.

Sadly this is still a prototype, and has not yet made it into pubs or stadiums. However it can only be a matter of time -- at least we hope so. A world where beer appears as if from nowhere is a world we want to live in.
