Scientists have discovered three different spots in the human brain that are linked to religious thoughts and beliefs.Researchers at the National Institute of Health performed brain scans on 26 individuals, who were asked to think about God's perceived emotion, God's involvement in the world, and their knowledge of religious doctrine. Even though the group of volunteers consisted of believers and nonbelievers, the three thought scenarios ended up triggering the same three regions in the participants' brains.
"This suggests that religion is not a special case of a belief system, but that it evolved along with other belief and social-cognitive abilities," said neuroscientist Jordan Gravamen, who worked on the study.
Upon learning that there are at least three God spots in everyone's brain, we deduced that there's got to be at least six pizza spots and four "Star Wars" spots.
