Our happy hour fact to amaze your mates in the pub.

The more a person drinks, the more likely he is to exercise.

Researchers looking over data from the Behavioural Risk Factor Surveillance System, a yearly telephone survey of about 230,000 Americans, came across this surprising correlation.

Drinkers exercise 7.2 more minutes a day than non-drinkers, and heavy drinkers work out 20 more minutes a day than teetotalers, and 10 more than moderate drinkers. This holds true for men and women.

Previous studies have shown that exercisers who are also moderate drinkers are in the best cardiovascular condition.
