We do love our great race, but one Swiss horse nut has shown he loves it more than most. Lukas Baumann has spent the last seven months driving -- yes, driving -- to Australia from his home in Zurich to today attend the Melbourne Cup. He sold everything he had, jumped in a second-hand car, and started the journey across the globe. And now he wants permission to drive his car across the finish line. The biggest hurdle? Lexus is a major sponsor, and he's driving a Volvo.
"They can cover all the badges," says Baumann. "just let us finish our dream after a very long journey."
Does anybody else smell 'book deal'?
We just hope for his sake it's a dry track. It'd be a real bitch to get bogged on the home stretch.

Volvo never dies. This guy is amazing! Imagine the experience this guy had and what stories he can share. So much more interesting about compared to common Australians.

He's awesome. I wish I could drive the same as him. Volvo was really a great car. Since I was born volvo is one of the top car makers in the country.
